LGP Request for Tender – GA0324 for Supply of Natural Gas

Local Government Procurement is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Request for Tender (GA0324) for the supply of Natural Gas. This tender will cover large sites & facilities, large tariff V sites, and small tariff sites, and is scheduled to be released on 3 February 2025. We invite your participation in this process.

The tender will seek pricing for a supply term of two (2) to three (3) years. As part of this process, LGP will also request tenderers to offer councils the option of purchasing Green Renewable Certificates to offset their energy emissions.

The tender aims to establish a single (if possible) licensed Retailer(s) holding accreditation to provide retail natural supply of gas requirements of NSW Councils and approved Not for Profit (NFP) Organisations.

Commitment Process for Participating Councils & Not for Profit (NFP) Organizations

Since we are seeking binding commitments, we kindly ask that you complete the ‘Acceptance Declaration’ (Please send in your request at [email protected] to request this form)  to confirm that you have reviewed, understood, and agree to the outcome of this selective tender process.

This commitment must be submitted within the month of November, prior to the release of the Request for Tender to the market.

The outcome will be determined in accordance with our Prescription Status under section 55 of the Local Government Act 1993 (as amended). Please note that participating Councils will be bound by the outcome of the tender process.

For transparency and sound governance, we would like to make the following points:

  1. Each General Manager, Chief Executive Officer, or Senior Manager must ensure they have the appropriate delegation based on the monetary value involved. Please review this carefully.
  2. Regarding the monetary value, General Managers, Chief Executive Officers, or Senior Managers may find it appropriate to inform or seek additional authority or confirmation from the Council. This decision should be made based on your Council’s specific governance and political considerations.
