Welcome to the Indigenous Procurement Pre-Qualification Scheme

Local Government Procurement (LGP) is proud to introduce the Indigenous Procurement Pre-qualification Scheme (IPPQS), a strategic initiative designed to lead the New South Wales (NSW) local government sector in engaging with Indigenous businesses and advancing economic inclusion.  Our vision is to have LGP lead the NSW local government sector in accessing and progressively lifting NSW council engagement with Indigenous businesses.

To ensure the success of this vision, LGP is investing in our ongoing journey by developing our first-ever Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), which is scheduled for launch in 2025. LGP maintains strong partnerships with the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce (NSWICC) and Supply Nation, demonstrating our dedication to diversity, inclusion, and economic opportunities for First Nations communities. As part of our strategic efforts, we have conducted comprehensive Supplier Diversity Training for LGP staff, further embedding this commitment within our organizational practices.

In collaboration with First Nations graphic designer Yirra Miya, we are proud to feature new, bespoke Indigenous artwork on our platforms. This custom design serves as a visual representation of our partnership and commitment. We invite you to connect with Yirra Miya if you are interested in engaging a First Nations graphic designer for your projects.  Please click here.

Our newest strategy under the program proudly introduces the Indigenous Procurement Pre-qualification Scheme (IPPQS).  A powerful new platform that connects councils with Indigenous businesses, this innovative initiative is designed to drive economic inclusion, reconciliation, and cultural diversity. The scheme supports meaningful collaborations and fosters economic growth for First Nations communities while simplifying procurement for councils.
