Welcome to 2025 and a Happy New Year to you all.
All of us here at LGP hope that you all had a great holiday, and you are back into 2025 refreshed and ready to go. LGP is set for another year where we look to make changes that lift our performance and deliver new and better value for our councils, ROCs, JOs and contracted suppliers.
In 2025 LGP will roll out our Indigenous Procurement Program to be engaged by the NSW local government sector, execute Release 4 of our Procurement Capability Grant Program, launch a new grant program to drive digital technology engagement, communicate a new Disaster Response Procurement Solution.
Of course, the LGP Events Program is locked in and ready to begin in March, and where we hope to see all our council people very soon. Our Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program will evolve to provide new value to our suppliers under LGP panel contracts.
We plan to evolve our existing contracts and identify new ones to meet future council needs. Our training courses are now open to employees in NSW councils and to our supplier-base who can access new qualifications. Our Strategic Procurement Solutions team has a range of outsourced procurement initiatives currently being delivered for a range of councils, the team continues to expand our ESG (environment, social, governance) procurement solutions.
Internally we continue to explore and implement artificial intelligence across our business. We will ‘go live’ with our new Contract Lifecycle Management System (CLMS) to automate the management of our whole-of-local government panel contracts.
Excitingly LGP will spend 2025 identifying and closing our operational gaps to undergo an audit and achieve ISO 9001 certification.
ISO 9001 is an internationally recognised standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS) developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). It provides a framework for organisations to ensure they consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements while improving overall efficiency and performance. The Key Features of ISO 9001 Certification are:
- Customer Focus: Emphasis on understanding customer needs and striving to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Leadership: Commitment from top management to implement and maintain a quality management system.
- Process Approach: Structured management of processes to achieve desired outcomes efficiently and effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Ongoing efforts to improve products, services, and operational processes.
- Risk-Based Thinking: Identifying and addressing potential risks and opportunities to enhance decision-making.
Some of the benefits we expect from our ISO 9001 journey includes; Improved Efficiency, Increased Customer Satisfaction, Enhanced Credibility, Regulatory Compliance and Better Decision-Making.
In FY24, for the first time ever, LGP achieved $1b in spend under our panel contracts. We are very grateful for the support from our councils and suppliers. In order for that support to continue we need to continue evolving and enhancing the value we offer these two key stakeholder groups, that is what will be driving us all through 2025.
It is great to be back in 2025, stay safe we will see you all very soon.
Thank you.
