Using LGP218 for Service Reviews

In September 2021, the NSW Office of Local Government updated the Integrated Planning and Reporting Guidelines, introducing a new requirement for councils to establish and publish a program of Service Reviews. The results of these Service Reviews are required to be published in Councils’ Annual Reports.

LGP218 – Internal Audit and Management Services offers a streamlined solution for councils looking to meet this requirement. With a range of suppliers experienced in developing and implementing Service Review programs, councils can use LGP218 to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and obtain competitive quotes — without the need for a full tender process. This ensures compliance while allowing councils to engage their preferred supplier efficiently.

Many councils have already used LGP218 for Service Reviews across various areas, including:

  • Framework and program development

  • Roads

  • Aquatic centres

  • Street sweeping

  • Fleet and plant

  • Beach lifeguard services

  • Holiday parks

  • Rangers and animal services
