New Circular Economy Procurement Training Delivered for Western Sydney Councils

Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC), in partnership with the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and Local Government Procurement (LGP), has successfully launched and delivered the specialised two-day training program: Circular Economy in Procurement in November 2025. This initiative marks a significant step forward in the region’s collaborative circular journey.

The program was met with excellent participation and feedback from the council’s procurement, sustainability, waste and project management teams. This interactive initiative guided council staff on how procurement can play a significant role in driving circular economy and market innovation within Local Government.

Program Highlights:
  • Practical Application: Step-by-step guidance on embedding Circular Economy (CE) principles into procurement planning, RFX documents, evaluation panels, and contract management.
  • Measuring Impact: Methods for linking CE outcomes to practical KPIs.
  • Supplier Innovation: Real-life case studies and circular initiatives showcased by LGP approved suppliers including Greenbox, Dell Technologies, Fulton Hogan, COS, and Moduplay Group.
