Hands up who likes change?

Only kidding. Most of us probably feel a little uncertain when faced with change, particularly when we’re comfortable with the way things are.

But change is also a natural part of life and work. It can bring new ideas, new opportunities and better ways of doing things.

Let me take you on a little journey to explore why learning to embrace change can make such a difference.

In a former role within a finance department, change was a constant. As with any organisation undergoing continuous evolution, some people welcomed the changes, while others needed a little more time to adapt.

I’ve experienced that myself. There have been times when I’ve resisted change because it felt easier to stick with what I knew rather than step into something new. But when I took the time to look beyond the immediate change and consider what it could bring, I found it much easier to embrace.

Change can give us the opportunity to learn new skills, improve processes, try different approaches and achieve better results. It can challenge us to look at things differently and, sometimes, discover that there is a better way of doing things.

Of course, not every change will be easy, and not every change will work exactly as planned. That’s why supporting people through change and giving them the opportunity to understand, adapt and contribute is so important.

At LGP, we’re continuing to evolve and improve the way we work. Whether it’s introducing new processes, technology or ways of supporting our customers, each change is an opportunity to learn and improve.

So, the next time change comes your way, try not to focus only on what you might be leaving behind. Think about what you could gain.

Change may not always be easy, but it can open the door to opportunities we might never have discovered otherwise. So, what opportunity could be waiting just around the corner?
