The Roads Infrastructure & Assets portfolio supports councils to deliver and maintain critical infrastructure that communities rely on every day, including roads, bridges, related civil works, and long-term asset programs.
As Portfolio Manager, you sit at the centre of a multi-council, multi-contractor ecosystem where you can improve how councils access the contractor market through well-structured, commercially effective panel arrangements. You will design and manage procurement programs that connect councils with capable contractors, specialist expertise and innovative solutions.
In this leadership role you will:
- Develop and deliver portfolio and category strategies
- Lead complex procurement and tender programs
- Build trusted relationships with councils and contractors
- Drive utilisation, performance and continuous improvement
- Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals
This role goes beyond establishing panels as you will continuously evolve procurement solutions to ensure they are practical, adopted, and delivering outcomes at scale.
Why join LGP?
LGP offers a procurement environment that is fundamentally different from both traditional corporate roles and standard public sector functions.
Rather than serving a single organisation, LGP operates at the centre of a multi-council, multi-supplier ecosystem, designing and managing procurement arrangements used across NSW local government. This means your work does not just influence one organisation, but helps shape how an entire sector accesses the market.
As LGP continues to evolve, our focus has shifted beyond establishing compliant contracts to ensuring those arrangements are practical, adopted and continuously improved. You will contribute to procurement that is insight-driven, actively managed and focused on real outcomes.
You will benefit from:
- A broad, end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from category planning through to contract performance and renewal
- An entrepreneurial environment where initiative, insight and influence drive success
- The opportunity to work across a diverse, multi-customer ecosystem
- Exposure to complex, high-value procurement challenges
- A culture built on engaged, empowered and accountable people who enjoy being part of a talented team
At LGP, you will develop deep commercial capability while contributing to meaningful outcomes for councils and communities across NSW.
About you
You are a strategic procurement professional with strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to lead outcomes in complex environments.
You bring:
- Experience in category management, procurement or commercial leadership
- Strong strategic thinking and market insight capability
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders
- Experience delivering procurement or sourcing initiatives end-to-end
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships
Experience in public sector procurement, panel arrangements, or regulated environments will be highly regarded.
