LGP Achieves Final Approval of its Reconciliation Action Plan

Local Government Procurement (LGP) is proud to announce that our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has received final approval from Reconciliation Australia, marking an important milestone in our commitment to reconciliation.

This achievement reflects significant work across the organisation over an extended period, with the RAP development process spanning approximately two years and involving input from multiple teams and stakeholders.

The RAP outlines LGP’s ongoing commitment to building respectful relationships, creating meaningful opportunities, and strengthening cultural understanding both within our organisation and across the local government sector. Once formally endorsed, the RAP represents a public commitment, positioning LGP as part of the national RAP network and reinforcing our role in supporting tangible reconciliation outcomes.

Through this plan, LGP will focus on practical actions that drive real impact, including supporting increased engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, embedding culturally informed practices, and contributing to broader social and economic outcomes through procurement.

Importantly, the approval of the RAP is not the end of the journey—it is the beginning. The focus now shifts to implementation, continuous improvement, and ensuring the commitments outlined in the plan translate into measurable outcomes.

LGP acknowledges the dedication of everyone involved in developing the RAP and looks forward to working alongside our members, suppliers, and partners to advance reconciliation in a meaningful and sustainable way.
