Jan McClelland

Jan was appointed to the Board in April 2026. She has extensive experience as a Chief Executive, Chair and Company Director across government, private and not‑for‑profit sectors.

She is currently Chair of the Gateway Network Governance Body (GNGB), Chair of the Life Insurance Code of Practice Committee, and a member of the NSW Judicial Commission. Jan also chairs several audit and risk committees across government and non‑government organisations.

Jan is a former Director General of the NSW Department of Education and Training, Managing Director of the NSW TAFE Commission and Deputy Chancellor of the University of New England. Her previous leadership and governance roles span education, transport, waste, agriculture, medical technologies, legal and professional services, and insurance.

Her professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Bachelor of Legal Studies and an Honorary Doctorate of Letters. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Institute of Leaders and Managers, and a Fellow of the Australian Council of Educational Leaders. Jan was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2015 for significant service to education, business, social welfare and community organisations, and to public administration.
