James Alley
James Alley is a proud descendant of the Kuku Yalanji and Kalkadoon people of Far North and North West Queensland. With significant experience spanning 21 years in the public sector (both Federal and State), he has held numerous management and leadership roles in Government. His expertise in Aboriginal Affairs spans over 30 years, during which he has actively contributed to and influenced major policy reforms relating to Indigenous issues.
He has also contributed to the development and management of numerous government projects and programs, offering strategic advice at a high level on various policy, planning, and stakeholder engagement initiatives concerning Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
James has established himself as a leader in Indigenous engagement and communications. Importantly, possesses a wealth of knowledge in relation to accessing various funding streams through both State and Federal Government.
James is on the supplier panel of the Federal Government Australian Electoral Commission Tender. Additionally, as an avid Rugby League fan and former Rugby League player, James embodies the spirit of Queensland, particularly during State of Origin time “don’t hate the player, hate the game”.
Yindili is fully compliant in relation to Public Liability and Indemnity Insurance as well as Workers Compensation Insurance and has a robust Indigenous Recruitment Service Delivery Model based around well established and sound recruitment and selection practices for:
- Permanent recruitment, such as Customer Service, call Centre, Event and Administration staff,
- Contract and Contingent, such as Engineers, IT, Finance and Administration staff,
- Council casual labour force solutions inclusive of Casual Take-overs for such categories as P&G – Grounds and Trees staff, Concreting & Road Crews, Truck Drivers, Trades Staff as well as Cadets and Apprenticeship hiring.
James can not only guide Councils in relation to current Indigenous Policy that may impact on them, but also ensure that Council is ahead of the curve in relation to upcoming Indigenous initiatives from both the NSW Government and the Federal Government.
