Nationally Recognised Training

LGP in association with Pro Leaders Academy, a registered training organisation (RTO Code 45024), have the following nationally accredited courses on offer.

These courses have been specifically developed for the local government sector and are relevant to those who have any involvement in the procurement and contract management function. What sets these courses apart is that these were developed and are delivered by Pro Leaders Academy, subject matter experts in the field of government procurement.

Venue:  All these courses are delivered at LGP office in Sydney CBD

Regional or In-house delivery: These courses can also be offered in a more cost effective way in a regional location or delivered in-house. This is available on request and subject to sufficient demand. 

Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting (PSP40616)

This course offers practical, hands on training to develop procurement plans, gaining approvals, developing key documents such as the Specifications Requirements, the Request for Tender and the Tender Evaluation Plan. The participants get an opportunity to conduct several realistic simulated tender evaluations to select a preferred provider. Participants also become aware of the legislative, legal and policy framework which regulates government procurement and contracting processes.  

Duration: 11 Days (9:00 AM to 4:30 PM) spread across two-three months in blocks of two and three-days. The last three days of the training focuses exclusively on assessment.

Diploma of Procurement and Contracting (PSP50616)

This qualification covers the competencies required for independent and self-directed work as a procurement and contract manager in the local government sector. It is suitable for individuals who apply integrated technical and theoretical concepts in a broad range of contexts to undertake advanced skilled duties in a procurement and contracting environment. The course contents have been specifically contextualised to meet the needs of Local Government sector.

Duration: 11 Days (9:00 AM to 4:30 PM) spread across two-three months in blocks of two and three-days. The last three days of the training focuses exclusively on assessment. 

Course Fee: $4,600 (excl. GST) per person

Advanced Diploma of Procurement and Contracting (PSP60616)

This course covers the breadth, depth and complexity involving analysis, diagnosis, design, planning, execution and evaluation across a broad range of technical and/or managerial functions in Procurement and Contract Management. It is a practical program in which participants learn to develop the strategic management skills necessary to operate at the middle to senior management level in the public sector procurement processes. Extensive case studies, negotiation scenarios and   presentations also help the participants to examine the legal, legislative and policy framework within which higher level procurement processes are completed.  

Duration: 12 Days (9:00 AM to 4:30 PM) spread across two-three months in blocks of two and three-days. The last three days of the training focuses exclusively on assessment.

This course is suitable for individuals who are currently working or intend to work in team project environment. Through this course the participants will gain the expertise to plan, execute, monitor and close a project from concept to finalisation.

Diploma of Project Management (BSB51415)

This qualification is ideal for professionals who are currently in the role of project team leader/project manager or planning to get into this role. The participants will gain skills to oversee projects to meet goals and objectives of the department or organisation. The course provides a theoretical understanding of project management as well as practical tools and skills for implementation in the workplace.
