Seeking First Nations Talent for LGP’s RAP

LGP is currently developing its first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and is seeking a First Nations person to join its RAP Working Group.

LGP’s first RAP will be an Innovate RAP, focused on strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and looking for opportunities to advance reconciliation, particularly through LGP’s work with councils across NSW and Australia.

LGP wishes to engage a First Nations person to guide the preparation, implementation and review of the RAP. The representative would be expected to contribute approximately fifty hours per year, actively participating in RAP Working Group meetings, implementation of initiatives, engagement of LGP and other stakeholders, advocacy for perspectives of First Nations people, and evaluation and reporting on progress against RAP objectives.

Recognising the value of their expertise, the First Nations representative on LGP’s RAP Working Group will be remunerated for their time, including for participation in meetings, involvement in RAP initiatives and any other additional responsibilities as part of the Working Group.

Selection criteria:

  • Demonstrated commitment to reconciliation.
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.
  • Experience in community and/or staff engagement, particularly in initiatives related to reconciliation.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Availability to contribute approximately fifty hours per year to attend meetings and participate in the development and running of activities relating other RAP activities.
  • Ability to clearly articulate perspectives and experiences of First Nations people.

Interested individuals are invited to view the draft RAP Working Group Terms of Reference and to submit an expression of interest to Katherine Lustig via [email protected]. Submissions of interest must include a resume, a cover letter addressing the selection criteria (not more than three pages), and a document confirming Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.

Please direct any queries to Katherine Lustig on (02) 8270 8712 or [email protected]
