Overview | This qualification allows for the attainment of competencies required by personnel responsible for the management of strategic procurement in public sector organisations. | This qualification allows for the attainment of competencies required for independent and self-directed work as a procurement and contract manager in the public sector. It is suitable for individuals who apply integrated technical and theoretical concepts in a broad range of contexts to undertake advanced skilled duties in a procurement and contracting environment. | This qualification allows for the attainment of occupational specific competencies for those responsible for the procurement of goods and services. It covers the broad range of skills required to operate without supervision in a procurement and contracting environment. |
Prerequisite | Hold a min. Cert IV or higher qualification to meet Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) requirements or complete an LLN assessment prior to the course.
Five years’ recent work experience in conducting government or private sector procurement activities. Are currently working in teams within business units with established business plans, policies and business processes and have met the minimum standards for performance in their current roles. Have completed training provided by the employer on Work, Health and Safety arrangements, fraud awareness, sustainability programs, financial management arrangement. |
Hold a min. Cert IV or higher qualification to meet Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) requirements (or sit the LLN Level 4 assessment prior to course).
Three years’ work experience in a procurement or business role and are looking to broaden the procurement/contracting skills and knowledge. Are working in Teams within business units with established business plans, policies, and business processes. Have met the minimum standards for performance in current roles. |

Delivery period | This 1.5-2 years course will be delivered at an accelerated pace over 12 full days (9.00 AM to 4.30 PM) during the following three blocks. Bidding for Government Contracts (Thursday 22 June 2023): This course targeted at the potential suppliers covers the basic principles, processes and best practices in bidding for government contracts. The objective of this course is to provide insights about public sector procurement from the buyer’s perspective as to what is required, how the proposals are considered, the tender evaluation process, preparing and submitting bids. The experienced trainers assist the participants to develop skills and confidence in bid writing.
