Who am I?
I am an energetic and passionate leader of people, and my role at LGP is to drive the strategies and initiatives that support our greatest asset.
I was born and bred in Sydney, migrating from the Hills to the Northern Beaches, which has been home for 20+ years. I am married to an amazing man and we have two teenage boys who certainly keep us on our toes (there is never a dull moment in the Despas household).
My early career focused on customer service and people management. In recent years, I branched out to challenge myself and am now a qualified Nutritionist with a particular interest in neurodiverse, paediatric health and corporate wellness. I am very conscious about keeping a healthy work/life balance. When I am not working, you will find me sweating it out in the gym, walking my dog, shooting hoops with my boys, or socialising with family and friends.
What keeps me busy at LGP?
No one day is ever the same at LGP. I am responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of HR services. I provide proactive, strategic guidance to LGP of targeted business strategies and initiatives. Culture, employee engagement, change management and wellness are areas of support for our people. Our current focus is on the growth of our leaders, and the development of skills and capability across the business.
How do I make a difference at LGP?
I am forward-focused, and provide informed, professional and consistent HR/IR support and advice to the business. I seek to add value by developing capability, confidence and best practice.
In my HR career I have covered all aspects of the employee life cycle. This helps me to engage with our people, to provide them with a positive employee experience, and to lead and embed change and transformation.
My leadership style is inclusive and I am naturally caring and empathetic. I use my strengths to help bring the LGP values to life – Leadership, Empathy, Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, Innovation and Fun.
