Introducing John Pennock, Business Development Management – South

Who am I?

I grew up in the suburbs of Sydney, as an adult I had the opportunity to spend several years in the UK. I have English parent’s but my reason to travel was because of my now wife of many years.

I’m usually found not far from the coast, seek out live music or down at Belvoir theatre, help out with a local bush care group, grabbed a season ticket this year to my local club rugby team (although grew up on a diet of soccer/football), but at my happiest behind the BBQ all year round.

With LGP I’m really enjoying visiting different regions, this photo is of one of the many great bakeries I find on my travel. I believe in the pie economy, eating one pie at a time to support a community.

How do I make a difference at LGP?
  • Keep councils up to date, act as a link between council and internal LGP divisions.
  • Assist with educating councils on best practice when using LGP contracts.
  • Provide market information to my colleagues which helps assist with their roles.
What keeps me busy at LGP?

In my role I have to take a proactive approach, LGP plays an important part in helping councils, identifying the gaps where we can assist is key.

Questions from councils come in all shapes and forms, I enjoy receiving these as I learn about some of their challenges.

LGP has a number of working groups and has a great culture of group thinking and seeking feedback from staff.
