Welcome friends & strangers!
You know someone, but how well do you really know them? I’m inviting you to join me on a new series of articles to do just that, get to know us better.
Over the course of FY25 we will explore “Who is LGP?”, “What does LGP do?” and any other burning questions you might have, via a journey through the LGP Website & resources. The site is brimming with great information, helpful articles, contract details, event registration forms, strategic procurement solutions, training & much, much, more.
First things first, where is this website located? Local Government Procurement (lgp.org.au)
Second question, have you got a login?
Once you arrive at the website, cast your eye to the top right of your screen where you will see the following, click Login/Signup & follow the prompts.
Each morning at work, one of the first things I do is log into the website as it answers a lot of the questions I’m asked. The below two screen shots capture some examples of the resources that are waiting inside & also offer a great place to start our journey. Cue the music!
How do I know if I’m logged in?
If you see the word Howdy in the top right, you are good to go.
You may wish to access the following which are handily linked from the login page as well:
- Login to VendorPanel – to access our Contracts, LGP Approved Suppliers & enter RFQs/RFIs. You can also head directly to: www.vendorpanel.com.au
- Login to LGP Reporting Gateway – measure & track your Council’s spend through LGP Contracts (reach out to your BDM for more information)
- View Tutorial Videos – links to some basic instructional videos for your reference.
From the home page you’ll see a selection of dropdown menus, let me draw your attention to the About tab. Some of these tabs are self-explanatory but I wanted to point out the following:
Legislation: If you didn’t know, Local Government Procurement (LGP) has been prescribed under s55 of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), allowing councils to utilise supply arrangements coordinated by LGP without the need to go to tender, in their own right. LGP therefore has the same status as NSW Procurement in having this legislative requirement.
Being a prescribed entity, Councils using LGP contracts do not have to go to tender for values greater than the tendering threshold, saving you time, money & resources.
Who can help? Here you can connect with the most relevant staff member to suit your query. For example, by searching for, or by selecting Training & clicking on the results, you can reach the team directly. Follow the prompts after searching to connect with one of the team.
