From the CEO’s Desk

For LGP, September is all about networking with our councils and preparing for our annual conference.  We are attending and serving as Keynote Speakers at several events this month which cover the national local government sector, supply chains, and sustainability.

We are only 6 weeks away from the 2023 LGP Annual Conference on the 17th and 18th of October, on the water front at Doltone House, Darling Island, Pyrmont.  For the first time ever, we are up over 100 registrations this far out from the event.  With our 80’s theme for the dinner chosen, it is selling out quickly. The awards dinner on day 1 of the conference is always a great night of celebration.

Our Annual Procurement Awards are a great opportunity for councils and our panel suppliers to tell their stories of achievement across our sector over the past 12 months.  The online application process is simple.  If you are a business, team or individual who might qualify for any of these prestigious annual awards, we would love to see your application:

  • Outstanding Procurement Professional
  • Sustainable Procurement Award
  • New Procurement Professional
  • LGP Approved Contractor of the Year

It does not take long to complete, please click here and see what you great work you might want to share. If you have any queries, please reach out to Emma Murray and we will get in touch immediately to give you a hand.

The theme of the 2023 Annual Conference is Connect l Leverage l Achieve.  Some of our speakers include; Dr Helen Popovic our Motivational Speaker for the event, ScotWork will share their tips and techniques as the world’s leading negotiation practitioners, we have Craig Reucassel from The Chaser sharing his important War on Waste messages, as well as a multitude of council speakers from elected members, to CEOs, and procurement professionals.

We would love to see you there, please click here to find out more.

Quickly following our Annual Conference we have the LGP Technology Day on Thursday 2nd of November.  If you, or your IT team might be interested in spending a day listening to leading vendors talk about new solutions to support council, please register here click here.

Thank you,
Luke Kenny
