From the CEO’s Desk

Thank you to all those who have supported LGP over the last 12 months. Our team has had a terrific year growing across a range of areas and introducing a series of new initiatives.

The LGP Board has provided sound advice and strong encouragement to drive and grow our business.  We have again benefitted from their invested engagement, especially in terms of their significant contributions to our strategic planning process.

The staff at LGP have had a big year of delivery.  Their tireless effort, persistence and loyalty is why we are here and doing well.  I want to thank them for their unwavering support, and to let them know we value what they do in their roles, but more so we value who they are as people in our business.  Our staff make this a great place to work, we are very grateful.

Throughout the year I have shared of our key achievements across the business, they include launching our new 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, distributing $95,000 under Release 2 of our Procurement Capability Grant Program, commenced our Indigenous Procurement Program for local government, launched our Customer Service Standards, commissioned our first Artificial Intelligence project to automate data collection, by invitation LGP joined the NSW Anti-slavery Commissioners Working Party, delivered nine Network Meetings and held our largest ever Annual Conference.

Our 2022/23 Annual Report helps us measure our great work.   We managed $902m in contract spend by NSW councils; 2,300 online Request for Quotations through the VendorPanel system; 350 people trained; distributed $1.4m in rebate payments; saved councils $76m in price savings and process efficiency; 1,100+ approved suppliers conducting LGP’s Modern Slavery Risk Assessment.

Looking ahead to 2024 we again have an ambitious program of work.  We have 9 events in 8 months next year which allows LGP to bring new knowledge, present subject matter experts and build relationships with councils.

Shortly we will announce a new special event for the senior leaders in council to be held in February 2024.  We have our usual Sydney events with the pinnacle being our 2024 Annual Conference on 29th & 30th October, again at Doltone House, Pyrmont Island.  Regionally we travel to Armidale, Cessnock, Dubbo, Wagga, and two new locations for us in Kiama and Bathurst.

Finally on behalf of all the LGP team we wish you a safe and happy Christmas, and all the very best for the 2024 year ahead.

Thank you,
Luke Kenny
