From the CEO’s Desk

Thank you to all those who have supported LGP over the last 12 months.
Our staff have been incredibly focused, strong and collaborative, leading us out of a long period of uncertainty, into a phase we are enjoying great results from their hard work.

Our Board has provided sound advice and strong encouragement to drive our new strategies. We are very grateful to have access to, and engagement with such wisdom and experience.

To highlight how the LGP Board and staff have combined to deliver, here are some of our key achievements from 2022.

Achievement
Invested $100k into our first Procurement Capability Grant Program
Celebrated our first graduates from our own Registered Training Organisation
Created our first Renewable Energy contract for Councils
Completed Cyber Security internal audit project
Driving new Modern Slavery Toolkits & Risk Assessment Services
Conducted our first Wind Farm Site Visit for Councils
Returned to a face-to-face LGP Annual Conference with record attendance figures
Delivered range of new systems for our Board, HR & Records Management
Onboarded new talented employees & promoted 4 people into new challenging roles
Recognised staff who achieved 5yrs and 10yrs of service with LGP
Completed our second Stakeholder Sentiment Assessment

As to how we measure our great work this year, we can look to the FY22 Annual Report; $720m in contract spend by NSW councils; 2,300 online Request For Quotations through the VendorPanel system; 400 people trained; distributed $850k in rebate payments; saved councils $66m in price savings and process efficiency; 1,000+ approved suppliers conducting LGP’s Modern Slavery Risk Assessment.

Now that we are returning to a more familiar way of working, with hybrid working becoming our new normal, I think we all look forward to a rest and some time away from work. In 2023 LGP is expanding our face-to-face activity to challenge and grow our relationships with councils, suppliers and key stakeholders.

We have 9 events in 8 months next year, a busy program that is focused on bringing new knowledge, experts and relationships with councils. We have our usual Sydney events with the pinnacle being our 2023 Annual Conference on 17th & 18th October, again at Doltone House, Pyrmont Island. Regionally we travel to Tamworth, Dubbo, and look forward to three new locations Goulburn, Port Macquarie and Greater Hume.

Finally on behalf of all the LGP team we wish you a safe and happy Christmas, and all the very best for the 2023 year ahead.
