From the CEO’s Desk

LGP is stepping it up! This is our 5th year where LGP is supporting September, raising funds and awareness for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance. We have almost half our business participating in teams, driving some friendly competition to see who can get moving and take the most steps (target is 10,000 per day), and which team can raise the most money.

Last year as a business we took over 12.5 million steps and raised almost $6k. Teams like ‘Sustaining the Pace’, ‘Heels on Hills’ and ‘Witness our Fitness’ are looking to do better in 2022.

Sharing knowledge is a core function of the LGP business, as part of our annual Webinar Series we have two free webinars coming up this month, they are listed below:

13 September – ‘Procurement-as-a-Service’
This webinar will discuss “Procurement as a Service” (PaaS) as one of the ways that councils can take a more strategic approach to procurement, to create real and positive impact on local communities.

22 September – ‘Stabilising Council Energy Spend’
LGP is presenting an opportunity for you to join us and understand what the energy market is doing now, what can be expected over the next 2-3 years, and how you could assist in bringing stability to your council’s forward energy spend.

Continuing the theme of sharing knowledge, in September we have our Griffith Network Meeting on Thursday 15th.

The LGP Annual Conference “2030 – How will you Measure Up” is on the 18th and 19th October at Doltone House, Pyrmont Island, Darling Harbour.

If you have paid for your ticket, you can bring along your CEO, General Manager or Director for free. You can also bring along one of your Engineers. Not only do we have a specific stream of speakers on Day 1 for Engineers, they can also join a special site visit hosted our event Platinum Sponsor Boral.

Like many businesses, LGP has seen some staff move on to new roles, which has given us the opportunity to find and bring in new talent. We have some excellent professionals join us and pushing us into new directions.

We also know this can be disruptive. We have two Category Manager roles being recruited as we speak (Engineering and Energy roles). If you are a council or a supplier waiting on these roles to be filled, thank you for your patience. Our team is doing an excellent job of keeping on top of the workload with these vacancies. We will have people in these roles during October and supporting you all very soon.
