From the CEO’s Desk

Welcome to 2022 and a Happy New Year to you all.

We here at LGP hope that you all had a lovely break and managed to come back in 2022, refreshed and relaxed. LGP is set for another year where we look to make changes that lift our performance and deliver new and better value for our councils, ROCs, JOs and our approved contractors.

In 2022 we will release new contracts, present new training solutions and launch new services under LGP Consulting. Our team was quick to get back out on the road before Christmas, and we continue that focus on being back in front of our councils with a variety of meetings and regional trips already locked in with more to come.

We did recently announce that we have decided to merge the planned LGP Annual Conference 2021 (set for mid-February) with our 2022 Annual Conference in October. With the Omicron variant circulating, we decided to put the health and safety of our delegates, exhibitors, sponsors and speakers at the forefront. We also wanted to make sure everyone had an opportunity to achieve maximum value from our event, and that is why we are merging the events.

As an exclusive, I am pleased to announce that our 2022 Annual Conference will be held on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th October, back at Doltone House, Pyrmont Island. It is great to have this locked in and we will be in touch with all those registered for February’s event to transfer that registration to October.

More broadly on events, thank you to all those who attended our Procurement and Engineering Network Meetings. We held our first of many IT Networking Meetings, care of our founding sponsor in Vocus. The 2022 LGP events program is ready and will be shared, shortly. In May, we kick off our networking events program. We look forward to visiting the regions and bringing together our regional and metropolitan councils to network and expand their knowledge.

Off the back of our own highly successful Leadership Development Program, we are bringing a customised leadership solution to local government and LGP Consulting Services is excited to announce the launch of its new Leadership Forums. We are proud to be partnering with Courageous Leaders to support the leadership development of executives, senior leaders, and team leaders across all NSW councils.

Courageous Leaders have worked with a multitude of organisations, including LGP, supporting their key employees to build confidence and become the leader they want to be. This is about exposing employees to theory and allows them to practice and refine their new leadership techniques.

Our Leadership Forum product launch is scheduled for 21 February, stay tuned for your invitation to join us and hear how it all works.

It is great to be back in 2022. Stay safe we will see you all very soon.
