On Thursday the 3rd of March we launched the first ever Procurement Capability Grant Program for local government. LGP has committed $100,000 to be distributed to projects valued from $3,000, up to a maximum of $25,000.
This latest initiative from LGP has been designed to remove the ever-present barrier, that councils do not have enough money to fund procurement projects. We just changed that landscape. This new grant program will:
o Encourage councils to assess key areas of improvement and define impactful initiatives that advance their capability in procurement practice.
o Motivate collaboration between councils, ROCs and JOs who now have a reason to partner on submissions that delivers procurement leadership.
o Balance up LGP’s annual financial returns to the sector, giving regional and rural councils who receive significantly lower annual LGP rebates a new funding source to access.
o Generate fantastic stories of achievement, a condition of the program is for each completed project will be published as a case study to lead and inspire others.
The Procurement Capability Grant Program is now open. Final submissions must be received online, via the LGP website by 15th April 2022. For more information, please contact your Business Development Manager, or click here for more details.
Whilst it was disappointing that we had to cancel the 2021 LGP Annual Conference last month, our events program for 2022 is now locked in and we cannot wait to get back to be amongst you all.
Having recently attended the highly success LGNSW Special Conference in Sydney, with well over 500 attendees on site, we met a host of existing and newly elected Councillors and Mayors at our stand. This showed me people are ready to get back to networking, knowledge sharing and partnering on new initiatives together.
Now it’s our turn. Registrations are open for all our 2022 events including the 2022 Annual Conference in October, click here to secure your spot. Please plot these dates into your calendar and we look forward to seeing you very soon.
