LGP Annual Conference 2022

The LGP Annual Conference is the leading procurement conference within NSW Local Government. This conference brings together professionals from the field of procurement, infrastructure and sustainability, who are responsible for achieving strategic objectives and goals for their organisation.

In 2012 the United Nations put together a set of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved by 2030. The aim was to deal with the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges the world is facing. The outcome of the goals correlates with the adoption levels and efforts invested. Every effort big or small towards achieving the goals, will make a positive impact on our world.

The recent bushfires and the current pandemic are reasons enough for councils to adopt the SDGs. In today’s landscape, councils face increasingly complex economic, social and environmental challenges. At LGP we understand these challenges well. We have adopted SDGs that are relevant to our business and are seeing tangible results.

LGP is one of the few organisations in Australia who can help enable our councils to achieve their SDGs and create positive outcomes for the community. It is this very thought that shaped the theme for the LGP Annual Conference 2021

The theme will pan across Capability, Infrastructure and Sustainability aspects through various sessions of the conference program. Over the two days we will focus on the opportunities, challenges and solutions and chart the way forward for councils to meet their relevant SDGs by 2030.

We have engaged leading industry experts to share relevant information, delivery workshops to frame principles and innovative practices, showcase initiatives and projects, to get you thinking of how your council can be part of the positive change. These learnings will also help build personal and professional skills and capabilities.

New! Facility Tour for Engineering Stream Delegates on 17 October

Incorporating sustainability into infrastructure is top on council agendas. To provide you with a good insight of the use of recycled material while building long lasting infrastructure, we have organised a site visit for our engineering delegates to the Boral Materials Technical Services (BMTS) Laboratory at Baulkham Hills in Sydney. At BMTS you will walk through the largest facility of its kind in Australia. BMTS specialises in compliance testing of construction materials and offers quality control testing, R&D expertise and specialised technologies associated with all applications including concrete, asphalt and bitumen, road construction and building materials, aggregates and rocks and more.

The site visit will be held on Monday, 17 October 2022 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Capacity for this visit has been capped to 25 and will be available on first come first serve basis.
