LGP Annual Conference 2020 – A Snapshot

As an established leading industry event within NSW local government, the Local Government Procurement Annual Conference provides opportunities to learn and gain knowledge from industry experts and peers about a range of procurement topics, challenges and trends within the sector. It also serves as a platform to develop new professional networks while reinforcing existing working relationships. Our primary goal, along with information sharing and networking, is to share with delegates important information and best practices in procurement, engineering and related fields which in turn help build capability.

Most NSW councils were challenged by the recent disasters of drought, devastating bush fires followed by the pandemic. LGP sensed the need to assist councils with the process of rebuilding and decided to centre the conference around ‘Procurement Transforming Communities – Build, Grow, Innovate. Delegates gained valuable knowledge on disaster recovery, resilience, sustainable procurement, procurement transformation, leadership, data optimisation, supply chain management and more to enable them to assist in building more resilient and sustainable communities.

Due to restriction and social distancing we decided to go virtual with the conference. To provide a seamless conference experience LGP engaged the most latest and innovative conferencing technology which provided the opportunity to view the conference sessions and visit sponsors in the exhibition hall, all virtually.

A commendable line up of speakers and impressive presentations over the two days saw our delegates totally engrossed in the conference and statistics from the conference platform show that delegates attended all sessions on both days of the conference, which is commendable.

LGP once again congratulates winners of the LGP Awards for Procurement, Sustainability, LGP Approved Contractor of the Year and the very first LGP Foundation Award. Details of the winners are on the Awards page.

We have been receiving a lot of positive feedback from delegates and speakers which is encouraging. As always good feedback is rewarding and the LGP team is even more keen and excited to produce an even bigger and better event in 2021. We do hope you will join us at the LGP Annual Conference 2021.
