LGP offers a range of interactive and best practice modules in Procurement and Contract Management. It is designed specifically for the local government sector, covering seven critical areas of procurement and contract management. These modules are delivered by knowledgeable trainers with hands-on experience in local government.  The contents, case studies and activities are tailored with practical examples to maximise knowledge transfer. These public courses also provide the participants with the opportunity to share and learn from their experiences and network with peers.

Procurement for Local Government

Procurement for Local Government is a full day course designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the purchasing function within NSW local government sector. The participants get to learn the end to end procurement life-cycle and practical ways to apply principals within this sector.

Contract Management Essentials

Contract Management Essentials is a full day course designed to provide participants with an understanding of key principles that need to be observed when managing contracts in the local government sector. This course covers essential information on the contract management life-cycle including foundation insights to procurement principals.

Supplier Tender Training

Supplier Tender Training module covers the basic principles and best practices in tender writing for local government. The objective of the course is to provide insights from the buyer’s perspective as to what is required, how the proposals are considered and the tender evaluation process.The experienced trainers assist the participants to develop skills and confidence in bid writing.

Spend Analysis for Savings, Efficiencies, Compliance & Collaboration

Spend Analysis for Savings, Efficiencies, Compliance and Collaboration is a full day course that provides the participants with the ability to look for efficiencies, savings and increase compliance. It covers internal analysis, analysis of external factors  such as economic development and how to drive fact based procurement and contract management decisions.

Planning and Specification Development is a full day course designed to provide participants with information on the key principles that need to be observed for best practice procurement planning and specifications development. Evaluation, Supplier Selection and Contract Establishment

Evaluation, Supplier Selection and Contract Establishment is a full day course supports supplier selection and evaluation techniques aligned to probity and value for money. Learn key tips on setting up evaluation criteria for the quotation and tender stage to ensure the right supplier is selected.

Advanced Contract Management

Advanced Contract Management is a two day course designed to advance the skills in contract management.  This course is suitable for the individuals managing high risk, complex contracts or those wishing to learn more in this space.  A large portion of value is extracted (or lost) post contract award. In this course, the participants will learn how to manage risk, increase innovation, reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Project Management for Procurement

Project Management for Procurement is a full-day course designed to provide participants with an overview of the definition and and key principles of project management when managing procurement projects in the local government sector. Probity in Procurement is a half-day course designed to provide a comprehensive overview of probity in procurement within the NSW Local Government sector. By the end of this session, participants will understand the importance of probity in procurement, probity risks, lifecycle and probity requirements.

ISO 20400 Training for Senior Management

ISO 20400 Training for Senior Management is a full day course designed to provide participants with an understanding of ISO 20400 on sustainable procurement and how it can be used in their own context and professional role. This course covers how to analyse a council’s current sustainable procurement framework, identify drivers for sustainable procurement and define a sustainable procurement strategy and program of work that is tailored to your council’s context. This course is targeted at: procurement management, management staff in charge of environmental, social and economic issues, management in finance, legal, HR, engineers and operations.

Course fee: $600 (exc GST) for non-members or $500 (exc GST) for members.
